Checking In

So it's been quite a while, but I figured I'd at least put something up for October to show that I am still alive and well.

Basically teaching + coaching + classes + a small attempt at a social life = no time whatsoever for poker and posting. I seriously don't think I've ever been this consistently busy in my life at all... but I guess that's why we get summers off. On top of all this madness, I also managed to become an official homeowner, signing all the closing documents and handing over the biggest check I've ever written earlier today. Unfortunately the seller has been a little slow to get things moved out, and is going to be renting back for the next two weeks. That gives me a little time to keep searching for a kickass sectional couch for my new living room.

I will admit that I have squeezed a little poker in... but only because I wanted to try out Full Tilt's new Matrix tourney. I gave it 2 or 3 whirls in play money mode in between grading and lesson planning, and found it enjoyable, but not overly exciting.

Oh yeah... can't believe I forgot this given it's sitting right in front of me now. Last weekend my 7-8 year old computer got hit really hard by something vicious... virus, spyware, backdoor whatever... a whole bunch of fun stuff. Nothing was really lost or corrupted, but it's just not going away and it won't let me run any anti-virus/spyware programs to take care of it. The main file that kept reappearing was something called brastk.exe... don't know how I got it but watch out for it. Last thing I remember I was downloading music (yes, it was seriously music... not porn) on isohunt.com and through utorrent... the former of which seems pretty sketch, and now that I think of it has given me smaller issues in the past. Anyways, the end result is that I went out and got a brand new compy... an HP with more than enough of what I need, and a sweet new 19" monitor. I'm really liking Vista too... I don't see what all the complaining is about.

A friend of mine is coming this weekend to help me remove the extra hard drive in the old compy with everything I need and do a clean install of XP on it. Hopefully that'll clean it up and I'll have 2 to play with... as if I have that kind of time.

Alright, time for a dinner celebration for the new house. I'll check in again real soon.

Best of luck. - B
